The Navajo Nation Department of Fire & Rescue Services is charged with a large responsibility to protect life, health and property from fires, hazardous materials, disasters and other perils. The scope of our work is based on our Strategic Plan and Performance Criteria submitted to the Division of Public Safety for budget approval. Based on these two documents, our department submits reports to the Division of Pubic Safety, which in turn is submitted to the President of the Navajo Nation, to show that we are pursuing or own mission and that of the Divisions. Strategic Plan: Performance Criteria: 2007 Quarterly Reports:
Performance Reports provide insight into departmental responsibilities, accomplishments, challenges and measures of performance. Both qualitative and quantitative measures of performance provide accountability, acknowledge operational improvement, evaluate programs, monitor contracts, and report the allocation of resources. For policy makers, the Performance Report can help focus attention on success indicators. This enables them to raise issues related to efficient and effective use of resources and to identify appropriate changes. For others, the Performance Report is useful for understanding both the operations and the efforts of departments to balance output, quality control, and community outcomes. |
